Welcome to the Oxford Global Health Society!
The Oxford Global Health Society (OGHS) is a student-led community for people interested in global health research, policy, practice and leadership.
We create opportunities for students to exchange ideas, learn from researchers and practitioners, connect across academic disciplines and explore current global health challenges.
Our activities include speaker events, panel discussions, research presentations, career and professional-development sessions, social events, conferences and educational visits.
The Oxford Global Health Society was established by students who shared an interest in global health and wanted to create an inclusive, interdisciplinary community for learning, discussion and collaboration.
OGHS provides a platform through which students can engage with global health research, policy and practice; connect with peers, researchers and practitioners; and explore academic and professional opportunities in the field.
Our aims are to:
• encourage thoughtful and inclusive discussion of global health issues;
• support interdisciplinary learning and collaboration;
• create opportunities for students to engage with researchers and practitioners;
• promote awareness of global health research, policy, programming and leadership; and
• build a welcoming community for students with an interest in global health.
OGHS is an independent student-led society. Its activities, communications and views are those of the Society and do not represent or speak on behalf of any university, college, department or external organisation.
Membership to OGHS is free and is open to currently enrolled students and affiliates from all colleges and academic disciplines. No previous academic or professional experience in global health is required. Students or affiliates interested in joining should contact us or complete our membership form.
